Things are just getting worse for Lamar Odom.

The troubled basketball player – who is said to be battling drug addiction as his marriage to Khloé Kardashian Odom struggles – was arrested for DUI early Friday.

Odom, 33, was jailed in Van Nuys after his arrest in the San Fernando Valley at 3:54 a.m. by the California Highway Patrol.

He was released at 8:33 a.m. on $15,000 bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which runs the jails.

Odom had been pulled over on the 101 Freeway for doing 50 mph – too slow – after he was seen driving in a "serpentine manner," according to the CHP.

"The most dangerous aspect is that he was driving 50 mph on a freeway with a speed of 65 mph," says CHP spokesman Leland Tang. "That is never a good sign. That's not safe."

He then showed "objective signs of intoxication" and was unable to perform field sobriety tests as explained and demonstrated, says the CHP.

Odom then refused to take a chemical test at the jail, which under state law resulted in a one-year suspension of his driver's license, Tang says.

"Once you say no you automatically lose your license. No judge or attorney needed," says Tang. "People think you can do that but you can't refuse a chemical test without consequences."
