But with her now fiancé Jason Sudeikis, Wilde was the one who did the asking out.
"I met Jason, and I thought he was so charming. He's a great dancer and I'm a sucker for great dancers. But he didn't even get my number," Wilde tells Allure in the October issue.
"Over the next six months we kept running into each other. [One night], my best guy friend walked up to him and said, 'This is Olivia's number. Use it.' That was the beginning," she says.
The rest is history, and Wilde says their wedding plan is "slowly developing."
Wilde, 29, is envisioning a "funny, silly wedding," she says. "I trust everyone to not leak any information. I just hope no one ends up flying a stupid helicopter over it or anything dumb like that."

"Jason is fantastic with children," she adds.
For the Allure photo shoot inspired by her new movie Rush, Wilde sports a leather jumpsuit by 3.1 Philip Lim that fits her ideas about what works well on her body.
"I've thought for a long time that my body type would have worked well in the '70s. The idea that you could be a broad-shouldered, small-breasted woman and still wear really great outfits," she says. "I don't think I would have done well in the '50s."
The October issue of Allure is on newsstands Sept. 24.
