The Game made headlines this week when he, along with Drake, donated $20,000 to Anna Angel, an Ohio woman who lost her five children and boyfriend in a horrific fire
But the rapper from Compton, Calif., isn't stopping there. The Game, 33, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, plans on channeling $1 million of his own money into the Robin Hood Project
, with the goal of giving money to people around the world.
"It's a hand-to-hand project," he explains. "If I see someone who looks like they could use it and my heart tells me I should contribute to their struggles, I'll give them something. The direction comes from within."
While the Robin Hood Project was only launched three weeks ago, The Game has already donated about $80,000, and the phone is ringing off the hook with celebrity friends wanting to contribute.
"So many people want to be part of it already," he says. "It's crazy. I had no idea I'd set something like this off."
The Game acknowledges that this generosity doesn't exactly fit in with his bad-boy image. "When people tell me what I'm doing is great, I'm like, 'Are you talking to me? I'm The Game! I'm dangerous!' But doing all of these acts has brought a tremendous amount of positivity to my life. I'm still who I am at the core, but I have a heart."
