Bruce Jenner in September 2013
Here's another reminder to wear sunscreen!
Bruce Jenner underwent surgery for skin cancer on Monday, E! News confirms.
"I was diagnosed with a form of Melanoma called Basal cell carcinoma and have undergone Mohs surgery to remove it," Jenner tells the website
. "I have been struggling with this for several years and appreciate all of the support and prayers while I continue to fight the battle against skin cancer."
The Olympian, 63, had cancerous tissue removed from his nose, requiring 30 stitches. He was spotted with a bandage across the bridge of his nose and a baseball cap, presumably to keep his face shielded from the sun.
The reality star has battled skin cancer in the past. In January 2012, he was spotted with a large scar on the side of his face, also caused from the removal of malignant tissue.
While Jenner earned his gold medal in track and field, he is also an avid golfer, and spends hours outdoors practicing his golf game.
