Whether on- or offstage, the Jonas Brothers have always presented a united front. But there's apparently one topic that spurs dissention in the ranks: Miley Cyrus.

In the latest issue of Out magazine, the siblings – Kevin, 25, Joe, 24, and Nick, 21 – tackle a variety of buzzy subjects, but when the conversation veers toward the controversial "Wrecking Ball" singer, the brothers aren't quite on the same page.

"It wasn't my favorite performance of hers," Joe says when asked what he thought about the 20-year-old starlet's twerktastic MTV VMA performance. "I think that there’s one way of saying you've grown up, and there’s another way – I think that's her way. Look, people are talking about it, so I think it's working for what she wants."

Nick on the other hand, seems to be more forgiving.

"She's smart. She's very smart," he says. "We've always known that about her. She'll always be successful. [The performance] was funny – I was laughing."

And although he approves of Cyrus's gonzo antics, Nick wants to put the kibosh on its twerk-happy legacy. "I'm against it. I've just reached my limit," he says about twerking. "It's just done. It's too much."

Joe, meanwhile, has a different take. "Bring it on," he taunts. "I'm a fan."

As for those needling gay rumors that always seems to trail them, the Jonases – who are gearing up to release their new album, V – take it all in stride.

"We have a lot of gay friends and gay fans," Joe says. "It's a boy band stereotype; people assume, but we don't take offense."

Adds Nick: "I loved theater and I still do, and I care about fashion, and I care about a lot of things that I feel like stereotypes are attached to."
