Miley Cyrus: 'My Mom Is My Homie'

She acts as if she's full of self-confidence, but when Miley Cyrus is with her mom, Tish, she's still a little girl who needs some maternal love and care.

In a scene from Miley: The Movement, a one-hour documentary premiering Wednesday on MTV (10 p.m. ET), the pop princess, 20, shows a softer, more vulnerable side as she gets a shoulder massage from her momager.

"My mom is my homie," the newly single star says in a clip of the movie (above). "She keeps me less anxious cause I do get so overwhelmed when I'm going to perform because everything has to be perfect."

"If anyone has ever said, 'Where's her mother?' ... Right beside her," says Tish, answering a question many have asked following her daughter's infamous VMA performance and recent Rolling Stone interview where she said weed is the best drug on earth. "Through good, bad, through arguments, through crying, through I don't care what ... right there."

MTV promises the documentary will show Miley as fans have never seen her before, as it chronicles her triumphs and struggles at home, in the studio and on the road as she gears up for release of her album Bangerz on Oct. 8.

It's a busy week for Cyrus, who will also appear on Saturday Night Live this weekend as both musical guest and host.

Cyrus's promotional clips (watch below) spoof her recent controversies as well as her penchant for sticking her tongue out in pictures.

"Miley, do you mind me asking why you're always sticking out your tongue," SNL cast member Taran Killam asks the singer in one clip.

"It's how I smell," she replies.

"Like a snake?" Killam asks.

"Are you wearing women's deodorant?" Cyrus responds, sniffing with her tongue out.

"No!" he replies, before softly deadpanning, "Yes."
