Sparks flew when Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton met on a beach back in 2009 – as he played Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" on his guitar – and the sparks were there again when the duo took the stage during The X Factor's four-chair challenge on Thursday.

The Florida couple, who previously wowed the judges with their fun rendition of Britney Spears's "Toxic," delivered another memorable performance, taking on the Grease anthem "You're the One That I Want."

Romantic, sweet, original and pitch-perfect, the performance gave the judges chills.

"People are going to fall in love with you," Simon Cowell said, adding, "I like the fact that you put your own twist on the songs."

But not everybody got rave reviews – and the judges were especially harsh to two California teens whose group was ironically named Good News.

"I feel like you guys could be giving more," judge Kelly Rowland told the girls after their performance of Stevie Nicks's "Landslide."

Demi Lovato agreed, saying, "I don't think you're ready right now.

Cowell was much more direct: "This just didn't work in the slightest. It was boring. It was dreary. Your vocals didn't work together. I'm just going to say straight away you're going home."

Also getting bad news was Texas country duo Yellow House Canyon, whose performance of Pistol Annies' "Hell on Heels" prompted Lovato to say, "I don't think you have what it takes to be sitting in those four chairs." Cowell agreed and sent them home.

And last but not least, Detroit siblings Roxxy Montana showed off their huge vocal range on Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror," which Cowell seemed to love. "I was really impressed," he said. "We could make you incredible. I have a feeling about you three."

When all was said and done Cowell chose Alex and Sierra, Roxxy Montana, Restless Road and Sweet Suspense as his final four in the Groups category.

Now that the final 16 acts have been chosen, Lovato's Girls, Paulina Rubio's Boys, Rowland's Over 25s and Cowell's Groups will spend the next couple of weeks preparing for the first live show, which will air on Fox on Oct. 29. at 8 p.m. E.T.
