Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin
It seems Jon and Kate Gosselin
just can't agree on anything.
After Jon told Oprah Winfrey
on the Nov. 3 episode of Where Are They Now
that his children have "development" problems as a result of the family's former reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8
, his ex-wife
took to her blog to defend her kids
"I find it very heart breaking that my children's father chooses a public forum to discuss his current opinions of the 'development' of our children," she wrote on Monday
. "These opinions are, in reality, value judgments and they are based on his limited visits (albeit mutually agreed upon)."
During his sit-down with Winfrey, Jon said that twins Cara and Mady, 13, and 9-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel have "problems with their peers, and with talking to other people." He added that they also have issues with "wants and needs and manners and morals and what's right and what's wrong. I think more so than someone who grows up off TV."
Kate, who has struggled to move on as a single mom since their reality show ended in 2011, writes that she felt compelled to refute Jon's claims on her kids' behalf.
"Each and every one of our children has met and continues to exceed all physical, mental and emotional developmental milestones throughout their lives," she says. "Their normal development is regularly monitored by myself, their pediatrician and school staff, as is usual within any family."
"Anyone who has personally met our children all have the same thing to say: they are the most normal, pleasant, polite, loving and well adjusted children they have ever met. Most even go on to say that they are 'a delight' to be around," Kate continues.
"When our kids grow up, they may see their father's latest interview and wonder why he made untrue and hurtful statements about them. I want to be able to point them to this statement so that they know that I publicly set the record 100 percent straight on this one, for their sake."
