Blake Lively can add one more item to her resumé: inspirational White House speaker.

First Lady Michelle Obama invited the Gossip Girl actress to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Friday to speak to a gathered group of high school students interested to learn more about careers in film.

Lively, 26, joined Whoopi Goldberg, Naomie Harris, Harvey Weinstein and others to shed light on the realities of working in the film industry.

According to US News & World Report, Lively's insights stood out when she frankly revealed that her high school did not let her walk at graduation because she missed too many days of school to film her breakout role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

"They didn't let me do that because they wanted to shut me down," she told the students, per US News, which also reported that years later the school asked the star to speak at graduation. She said no.

Lively, who wed Ryan Reynolds last year also told the students that despite her showbiz roots, her first goal was to attend an Ivy League college.

"It was the only thing I knew I didn't want to do," she said of a career in Hollywood. "I wanted to get a great education."

Lively, who was class president and a cheerleader, admitted she has yet to achieve that dream.

"If I could, I would go back and I would go to college," she said.

But things obviously worked out for Lively, particularly after she landed the lead on Gossip Girl.

"I thought I tricked them," she said of getting the part. "I was excited to get free food on set."
