It was a pretty spectacular night for Voice coach Adam Levine, who was not only revealed as PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive on the show by host Carson Daly, but managed to keep all three of his teammates out of the bottom three during Tuesday night's live elimination show.
Tessanne Chin, 28, James Wolpert, 22, and Will Champlin, 30, all advanced to the Top 8, making Levine, 34, the only coach to have three singers still in the competition.
Christina Aguilera was the only other coach who avoided the bottom three, as she saw 16-year powerhouse Jacquie Lee and serial showstopper Matthew Schuler, who turns 21 Wednesday, advance to next week's live performance show.
Coach Cee Lo Green looked understandably frustrated to see his two remaining teammates in the bottom three: ethereal New Jersey high school student Caroline Pennell, 17, and North Carolina glam rocker Kat Robichaud, 29. They were joined by Austin Jenkes, 25, of Team Blake Shelton, whose other two teammates, Cole Vosbury, 22, and Ray Boudreaux, 25, were safe.
The somewhat controversial Twitter "instant save" – introduced last week – once again determined the fate of the bottom three singers. Viewers had five minutes to vote via Twitter for the singer they felt should earn the final slot in the Top 8.
So who was saved and who went home?
"I have so much love and respect for anybody who is willing to get up on that stage and bare their soul and their heart and just lay everything out on the table," Aguilera, 32, told the bottom three contestants just before the final results were revealed. "Either way, you guys won."
The live shows continue Monday at 8 p.m./7 p.m CT on NBC.
