Thankfully, Darwin survived his brush with fame relatively unscathed and is leading a happy, healthy life in Ontario.
Though Darwin's owner mounted a campaign to get her "child" back, it failed, and he's remained at the Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary in Sunderland, Ontario.
Earlier this month, the Toronto Star reported that Darwin was "thriving," at Story Book and "learning to be a monkey again," a task that presumably entails getting used to the dearth of shearling coats in the life of a "regular" monkey.
Handlers noted that while Darwin's posh early life initially made it difficult for him to socialize with other monkeys, he's since matured into "a healthy, confident adolescent," which was definitely something we were worried about.
We can't wait until he goes to monkey-college. (If that's not a thing, nobody tell us.)
