The Queen spoke proudly of her newest great-grandson, Prince George, during her annual speech on Christmas Day.

In the video message prerecorded in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace, she said, "Here at home, my own family is a little larger this Christmas," referring to Prince William and Kate's first child, who was born in July. "As so many of you know, the arrival of a baby gives everyone the chance to contemplate the future with renewed happiness and hope."

The video featured behind-the-scenes footage taken after George's christening in October, when the royals posed for portraits. Kate can be seen bouncing her son on her lap and pulling his hand out his mouth as they pose for the historic photos, which featured four generations of the family.

At around the five-minute mark in the video, you can see William also holding George for photos while Kate stands off to the side and calls out to her son, cooing, "Good boy!"

The Queen, who is also the head of the Church of England, called the christening "a happy occasion" and noted that "for the new parents, life will never be quite the same again."

George is celebrating his first Christmas with his family at the Queen's estate in Sandringham, north of London.
