Frigid or Fun? Watch Canadians Plunge Into Chilly Waters for Annual Polar Bear Swim

Think winter storm Hercules is a bit nippy? Try stripping down and going for a dip in the frigid waters of Canada.

This may sound like punishment, but it's actually a recreational tradition known as the Polar Bear Swim. Every year on New Year's Day, brave, thick-skinned Canadians clad in swimsuits and costumes charge into their country's frigid waters.

On Wednesday, thrill-seekers celebrated the Polar Bear Swim's 94th year, overlooking sub-zero temperatures and snowy conditions to go for a wade in places like Vancouver's English Bay.

Sounds like an ideal cure for that expensive New Year's Eve hangover.
