In the pages of Architectural Digest, Julianna Margulies's Manhattan apartment is a bright, airy stunner of a home. In reality, it's a sopping wet mess.

"We went skiing for Christmas this year," Margulies said during an during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Tuesday, adding that the February issue of AD featuring her home hit newsstands the day she and her family completed a 30-hour journey back to New York from Colorado.

"The whole time I kept saying to my son, 'We have our health,' " she says of travel delays during a winter storm. "We actually enjoyed it. We went and stayed at the Marriott in Denver. The airport Marriott, the beds were very comfortable. We were fine and then they lost our luggage, and that's fine. It happens."

Sadly, finally coming home wasn't sweet at all.

"We walked into our brand-new apartment with this [magazine] – it was in the mail – and everything was flooded," she says. "The whole place had completely flooded from the guy upstairs."

So what happened?

"His radiator exploded," Margulies says. "So at least we have pictures."
