SAG Awards: Rita Moreno, Bryan Cranston Sing in Their Acceptance Speeches

When it comes to accepting awards, more than a few 2014 recipients clearly had a song in their heart.

The trend seemed to start at the Golden Globes with Diane Keaton's heartfelt speech about Woody Allen as she accepted his Cecil B. DeMille honor. Keaton ended her occasionally profanity-riddled speech with a song that (as far as we can tell) originates from the Girl Scouts: "Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold. A circle is round, it has no end. That's how long you're going to be my friend."

Bryan Cranston continued to be one of the most charming people alive at the SAG Awards Saturday: Not only did he sing the first line of his acceptance speech, but he also thanked the rest of the cast of Breaking Bad when they took the stage to collect their best ensemble in a drama series award: "We have the nicest bunch of white supremacist Nazis I have ever worked with," Cranston joked. "I swear to you I would kill you all over again." Awwww?

But actually, we're ready to declare a winner in the 2014 Awards Show Season Sung-Speech Awards, because Rita Moreno walked away with it the second she opened her mouth. Accepting her life achievement award, Moreno (notably, one of only 11 EGOT-ers – people who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award), took a moment to sing some of "This Is All I Ask." "As I approach the prime of my life," she sang, "I find I have the time of my life." We hope to be half that magical at 82.
