And we're off to Never Land!

After bidding adieu to Carrie Underwood's buzzed about performance in The Sound of Music, NBC has announced they are getting ready to bring another Broadway classic to living rooms across the country with a live televised production of Peter Pan.

"Get ready for flying children and some kind of state-of-the-art light technology for Tinkerbell," NBC Entertainment chairman, Robert Greenblatt, told reporters Sunday during the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif.

Casting for the musical – which will air Dec. 4 – is currently underway and Greenblatt already has his eye on a promising Peter. "I want Miley Cyrus," he jokes.

Of the upcoming production, he adds, "In the hopes that lightning strikes twice, we think we've landed on another great Broadway musical – which ironically also starred Mary Martin – that is a timeless classic for all audiences, young and old, who just never want to grow up."

Despite the 18.6 million viewers who tuned in to see The Sound of Music in December, Underwood's performance hit anything but a high note among audiences – including PEOPLE's own movie critic.

Perhaps a pinch of pixie dust and a few happy thoughts will be the secrets to this show's success.
