Zach Braff has quite the supportive friend in Harry Styles.
The One Direction singer flew all the way to Utah to attend the Sundance Film Festival, where Braff presented Wish I Was Here, a film he starred in, wrote and directed.
"We're good friends," Styles tells PEOPLE.
Styles is staying with Braff while at the festival, a source says, and after attending the film's premiere, the pair celebrated at the Blue Door with Braff's girlfriend Taylor Bagley and Scrubs costar Donald Faison. Styles was also seen chatting with Anne Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman.
When Styles took a selfie for the PEOPLE Instagram, he admitted to crying while watching the film.
Absent from the celebration was Kate Hudson, who also stars in the flick. She "was not feeling well so stayed in for the evening," says an insider.
Elsewhere at the festival, Michael C. Hall helped a fan with a marriage proposal.
"The guy said his girlfriend and he were huge Dexter fans and asked if Michael would hand her the ring when he proposed," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "It was magical. You wanted to just give them a big hug and smile for them."
The romance continued with Joe Manganiello and girlfriend Bridget Peters, who were spotted kissing at the Chefdance dinner. "They looked so in love," an onlooker says. "They were always touching and being attentive to each other."
Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger, who may be engaged, were caught smooching at the Stella Artois Cidre Lodge happy hour. "They were in really good spirits," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "Josh had a giant smile on his face."
