It was makeover week on The Biggest Loser
Tuesday – the episode that every contestant dreams of reaching and one that moves me to tears every time.
By the time I saw the contestants this week, they had been with Tim Gunn and Ken Paves and they each looked stunning. Marie's hair change was genius! She looked so breathtaking and clearly her husband was shocked. I'm so glad she was willing to trust Ken's vision.
When Rachel walked out, my jaw literally dropped and I could have never dreamed on day one that she would look like this. Her smile lit up the night and to have her parents then tell her how great she looked was just such an incredible moment.
The women continued to be stunning and to have such special reunions. When Jennifer's daughter kept saying "Mommy" it was such a great moment. She has such gorgeous girls and their happiness for her was just magical. Chelsea looked absolutely stunning! Tanya's reaction when her family walked up was priceless, as was her talk with her kids about her plans to be active with her family.
The men all looked so dapper, too! Bobby looked like he was meant to be in his clothes and it was great to watch his family come together again and celebrate him.
Of the men, David was by far the biggest transformation. For him to rid himself of his beard and of hiding from everyone was so symbolic of his journey. You couldn't see it but tears were streaming down my face when he was reunited with his family.
As Bob said, the makeover episode is great for everything except ... weight loss. While nobody had a stellar week on the scale (by Biggest Loser
standards), I think they'll all agree that their week was worthwhile overall.
In the end, our final five are David, Rachel, Jennifer, Chelsea and Bobby. But Tanya and Marcie made an incredible final seven and I can't wait to see how much further they've come on our Feb. 4 live finale. Before then, though, we have next week's incredible testament to the athletes the contestants have become: the triathlon!
Favorite moment of the show this week: When each contestant walked out of the limo towards me with a renewed confidence and looking their best.
