WARNING: Graphic content: See the shocking incident – with a happy ending – that Brazilians are calling nothing short of "a miracle."

Last Tuesday, 5-year-old Jao Pedro Nascimento was walking home from school with his grandmother Vilma, 56, in Anápolis, Brazil, when the pair was caught up in an unfortunate chain of disaster. A Honda Fit hit another car before clipping a parked Vokswagen, which sent the VW careening onto the sidewalk and into the pedestrians' path.

As shown by CCTV cameras, the whole scene happened too fast for the Nascimentos to avoid the car, which ran over them both.

Amazingly, the boy and his grandmother experienced only minor injuries. Jao Pedro sprung up as if nothing had happened, while his grandmother was discharged from the hospital the next day.

"I feel as if we've been born again," Vilma Nascimento told Brazilian news site G1.
