Hours before their wedding Sunday at the Four Seasons Biltmore Resort in Santa Barbara, the bride-to-be predicted there would be tears from the former Bachelor.
And there were.
"As soon as I saw Catherine I started crying," Lowe admits. "I couldn’t hold it in!"
Franchise alums, including Trista and Ryan Sutter, Molly and Jason Mesnick and Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried, looked on as Giudici and Lowe exchanged vows at the Mindy Weiss-designed nuptials, which aired live on ABC.
"I was nervous for about 10 minutes [before] walking down the aisle," says Giudici, who will change her last name to Lowe. "As soon as I saw Sean, I wasn’t nervous anymore. It feels right."
After the ceremony, guests, including the newlyweds, were ready to party at the reception, where they danced and dined on scallops, rib eye steak and a custom wedding cake by Charm City Cakes West.
As for the new Mr. and Mrs.’s much-touted wedding night: Lowe, who along with Catherine, made public their plan to wait until marriage to have sex, has no regrets about the decision.
"My faith is so important to me," he says. "Our family was founded on it. And [now], tonight will be a very special night for the two of us!"
And, the beginning of a long and happy life together.
"I just want to hold his hand," says Giudici. "I want to enjoy this together, because this is about us. And I can't wait to start the next chapter of our lives."
