Lady Gaga, Elton John and Orange Is the New Black Among GLAAD Award Nominees

Lady Gaga has long been an outspoken supporter of gay rights, and now she's being honored by GLAAD, the nation's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media advocacy and anti-defamation organization.

The singer is one of 130 nominees for the 25th annual GLAAD Media Awards, the organization announced Thursday. She is being recognized for her album, ARTPOP.

Other nominees include Elton John; the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black; HBO's Behind the Candelabra, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon; Dallas Buyers Club, starring Matthew McConaughey; and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, with Andy Samberg.

PEOPLE is also being recognized for outstanding magazine overall coverage, and PEOPLE En Español is nominated for the article, "Karina Hermosillo, de 'Nuestra Belleza Latina,' es lesbiana y no tolera la discriminacion: "!Es que basta con eso!"

The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in Los Angeles on April 12 at the Beverly Hilton and in New York City on May 3 at the Waldorf Astoria.
