Robin Wright in season two of Netflix's House of Cards
On House of Cards
, Claire Underwood is the queen of hearts, allowing her husband to sleep with a young reporter so they can leak damaging stories about their political enemies. And in an exclusive teaser from season two, it looks like the Underwoods are back to their old tricks.
But could it tear them apart?
In the clip from Netflix's hit drama, Claire (Robin Wright
) and Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey
) are in full power-couple mode – though the tension between them is growing.
In one scene, Claire sobs on a staircase, a packed suitcase beside her, as Frank purrs reassurances in a voice-over. "Of all the sacrifices that you've had to make," he says, "I'm not going anywhere."
"You say that, but this could all backfire," Claire responds.
The video is the first Claire-centric trailer we've seen since a tantalizing, noir-inspired teaser of her smoking
was released in December.
The season-one finale left a triumphant Frank accepting the nomination for vice president, but journalist Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara
) was hot on his trail, raising questions about his ... killer
methods. It seems Claire will do anything to protect their agenda.
Wright, who won a Golden Globe
for her subtle performance, seems to be done playing nice.
"Now tell me, am I really the sort of enemy you want to make?" she asks.
To find out just how far the Underwoods are willing to go, you may want to postpone your Valentine's Day plans. Netflix will be releasing all 13 episodes of season two on Feb. 14.
