On Tuesday, Jennifer Aniston turned 45, looking flawless as always. And how does a famous actress celebrate a landmark birthday? Fill up on cake? Party until dawn? Aniston's Friends character, Rachel Green, had a similar conundrum in 2001 when she greeted the ominous 3-0.
In the Friends episode "The One Where They All Turn Thirty" – shot three days before Aniston turned 32 – Rachel begrudgingly greets her 30th birthday. Unsure of what to do with her day, her life or her younger boyfriend, she listens to the rest of the gang recount their birthday escapades.
Based on the Central Perk crew's behavior, here are five ways Aniston could celebrate:
A good cry is never uncool. Joey spent the first day of his fourth decade in tears.
2. Watch Someone Else Sob
Joey turned on the waterworks again for Chandler's birthday shindig. With her Hollywood connections, Aniston could probably find an actor to cry on command in a snap.
3. Skip the Birthday Nonsense Entirely
Forgetting birthdays is always an option, just like Phoebe accidentally did. On her supposed 30th birthday, Ms. Buffay discovered she miscounted and was actually 31. Yikes!
4. Party Unapologetically
Aniston could follow the wisdom of the drunk – and more fun – Monica and get rowdy, regardless of what others may have planned. A solid choice ... until the next morning.
5. Treat Yourself
If Ross can let loose and make a splurge, Aniston has no reason to hold back.
