When the highly anticipated second season of House of Cards
drops Friday, actress Kate Mara
will be a typical viewer ready to binge-watch.
Though she gained early access to the show's first season, Mara, 30, hasn't seen any of the political drama's new episodes, which Netflix will release all at once
on Valentine's Day.
"I'm just as excited to watch it like anyone else," she tells GQ in the magazine's latest issue
, on newsstands Feb. 25.
But the sultry star promises the second season won't disappoint fans of the series' explosive first run.
"I think it's just as surprising and addictive," she says. "Hopefully, we'll see."
Mara also discusses her football connection (her family owns the New York Giants
), but she's no tomboy. The GQ
interview is accompanied by come-hither photos of the actress in heels and lingerie, looking just as seductive as her character Zoe Barnes, a shrewd up-and-coming reporter who relies on her sexuality just as much as her sources.
"The most important aspect of Zoe that I felt I needed to understand and wrap my head around was her crazy drive and ambition," she says.
