Have you ever found yourself watching Full House and thinking, "I wonder what this would be like without Michelle?" If the answers is yes, well, apparently you are not alone.
Filmmaker Andrew Austin has spent his free time editing Michelle Tanner, the adorable tot played by Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, out of footage from the beloved sitcom.
The results are fairly freaky, as any vestigial trace of the exuberant child is removed from the show. In the opening sequence, as the family heads over the Golden Gate Bridge, her car seat sits empty. Michelle is also replaced by a picnic basket during an outing at the park, and in the credits, there is just a blank space where Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's names once appeared.
What starts out as an oddity akin to the almost existential Garfield Without Garfield or Fight Club Without Tyler Durden, turns into a much darker scenario when you read Austin's psychological breakdown of the project. In the YouTube caption he suggests: "Did Danny Tanner deal with the grief of losing his pregnant wife in a fatal car crash by creating an imaginary daughter named "Michelle"? Yikes!
Maybe we'll just watch the Full House reunion on Jimmy Fallon again.
