Jesse Pinkman fans might just get the ultimate fix.
said he's had "serious talks" with Breaking Bad
co-creator Vince Gilligan to join Better Call Saul
, the Breaking Bad
prequel centered around sketchy lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), and reprise the role that made him a star.
"Anything Vince is involved with, I'm there," Paul recently said in an interview promoting his new film Need for Speed
, reports New York's Daily News
"I owe him my entire career. And the idea of jumping into the skin of Jesse Pinkman again in his lighter days – because it's all a prequel – it would be fun."
Paul won two Emmys for his portrayal of Pinkman, a low-level drug dealer who rises to the top of the meth trade after joining forces with former high school chemistry teacher Walter White, as played by Bryan Cranston
The acclaimed AMC series ended its run
last year – the same year Paul married
wife Lauren Parsekian – and Paul continually looked ecstatic as he celebrated his small screen role
at the Emmys and beyond
No word yet on whether Cranston might also make an appearance on the upcoming show, but there is one actor who's already ruled it out: Dean Norris, who played White's dearly departed DEA agent brother-in-law Hank Schrader.
"I think that experience was that experience," he said in an interview this week, says the News
. "I'm not a big fan of kind of revisiting something that has already been done. But I think it's going to be awesome. So I can't wait to see it."
