Do You Know an Outstanding Teacher? Send Him or Her to the All-Star Game!

You're in luck, because today marks the start of Major League Baseball, Target and PEOPLE's "All-Star Teachers" program, which honors current and retired teachers around the country for their service to schoolchildren.
Through May 6, visit AllStarTeachers.com, where you can fill out basic information about your child's educator, and tell us a story or two about what makes him or her so great. MLB, Target and PEOPLE will select 90 finalists from the field, and 30 winners – one for each MLB club, voted on by readers – will be announced during All-Star Week, and attend All-Star Week activities in Minneapolis, Minn., this July. One winner will also be featured in PEOPLE during the week of the All-Star game.
Helping with the program are MLB players Carlos Beltran (a New York Yankees outfielder) and Adrian Gonzalez (first baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers), both of whom have strong ties to educational causes.
"My wife, Jessica, and I built the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy from the ground up and understand the importance that quality educators bring to young children today," he shares. "I couldn't be more excited to work with Target, MLB and PEOPLE in honoring the true superstars, our teachers."
Adds Gonzalez, "My wife, Betsy, and I have always had a passion and hunger for the education of young people. In fact, one of the tiers in our foundation is education. We currently have over 50 students on scholarship through our scholarship fund. I am really excited about my partnership with Target, which gives me an opportunity to get further involved in the education of our youth."
