After completing a two-month stint in rehab for eating disorders
, Kesha has made the move to Los Angeles and is embracing a fresh start.
"She's doing great. She looks and feels fantastic," a pal tells PEOPLE of the pop star formerly known as Ke$ha.
In addition to changing her name, hair color and Twitter handle
, a new beginning for the Nashville native also means a new home in the Los Angeles area, where the pal says she has a "great support system" to whom she "can talk about anything."
"I think she got what she went [to rehab] for. She's remembered how to love herself," the pal adds. "That’s what she got in touch with while she was away."
In February, Kesha announced she was delaying her tour
while she continued treatment at a Chicago-based facility, but last week the "Timber" singer Tweeted she felt "blessed"
and had been working on new music.
"She's in a great place mentally and physically and is feeling really good about herself," says the pal. "She is excited for the next phase of her life and career."
