After the Rolling Stones abruptly canceled their world tour in light of the devastating news that designer L'Wren Scott committed suicide Monday at the age of 49, Mick Jagger has returned to the United States to help plan services for his longtime love.

"Mick Jagger has arrived in Los Angeles in order to be with members of his family," a rep for the singer tells PEOPLE. "He will join daughter Karis, an L.A. resident, and daughters Elizabeth and Georgia May, who are also with him for support."

More family members are expected to rally around the grieving rock legend in the coming days.

"Jade Jagger and son James will also join him whilst he makes arrangements for L'Wren Scott's funeral," adds Jagger's rep. "Privacy for him and his family during this very difficult time is requested."

On Wednesday, Jagger's band members also voiced their support for the frontman, 70, as he struggles with his grief.

"No one saw this coming," said Keith Richards. "We're all feeling for the man."
