It's a
Nirvana cover so great, even Courtney Love's into it.

Kansas musician Kawehi's startlingly original cover of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box" went viral earlier this week after being picked up by Esquire, Spin and others.

Kawehi spoke to The Kansas City Pitch about the cover: Most astonishingly, the video was apparently a practice run.

"Nothing like this has ever happened to me," she says, adding that "My ultimate goal and my dream is just to be able to make music for the rest of my life and pay the bills and not have to eat ramen every day."

Kawehi adds that the video's success has been great for her, but "I don't have any intentions of becoming the next Katy Perry."
