Brace yourselves, comic fans.
The new trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past is out, and it's a doozy.
The film, which features Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Hugh Jackman – among many others – is one of the most highly anticipated of Marvel's upcoming films, given its sprawling cast and the return of director Bryan Singer, who made the franchise's first two films before being replaced by Brett Ratner.
Besides the aforementioned stars, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will reprise their roles as Professor X and Magneto, respectively, while Halle Berry returns as Storm. James McAvoy plays young Professor X again, and Nicholas Hoult resumes his role as Beast (both from X-Men: First Class). Ellen Page and Anna Paquin will also reprise their roles from previous X-Men films, and Peter Dinklage joins the franchise! There are parts of Manhattan less densely populated than this film.
Days of Future Past, originally published in 1980, is one of the most popular storylines of the X-Men comics: Its first issue was voted the 25th Greatest Marvel Comic of all time by fans in a 2001 poll.
