Though the Frozen soundtrack has been holding strong at the top of the charts, its golden position as No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart is being threatened by four unassuming lads from Down Under: the boy band 5 Seconds of Summer.
The band's four-song EP She Looks So Perfect sold 143,000 copies this week, just short of the Disney giant's 149,000 copies sold.
Still, it was a valiant effort and put them on the map. Here's a closer look at these photogenic Aussies:
1. They're teen phenoms.
The group consists of Luke Hemmings, 17, Michael Clifford, 18, Calum Hood, 18, and Ashton Irwin, 19. After meeting at school, Hemmings, Clifford and Hood formed a band, and they later found their drummer, Irwin, via Facebook.
2. They got their start on YouTube.
Theirs is a familiar story of Internet-bred stardom: The band's first brush with fame came when Hemmings began uploading videos to YouTube. Their game-changing cover? "Next 2 You" by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber, which quickly racked up thousands of views.
3. They're not just a "boy band."
While they have the good looks and stylishly mussed haircuts of your usual teen dream group, these boys have skill. They play their own instruments, don't dance and write their own material.
4. It hasn't been all screaming fans and private planes.
Their success has brought its share of haters. Irwin's car tires were slashed, and the boys "quickly found out who their real friends are," Irwin told Good Weekend.
5. They have some big-name fans.
When they were just starting out, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan were early supporters of the group, sharing 5 Seconds of Summer's music with their fans. And it's all come full circle: On Aug. 4, the Aussie boys will be joining One Direction again on their world tour! You can already feel the collective swooning.
