Rogen's monologue was one of the more star-studded of the show's season so far. Zooey Deschanel and James Franco showed up, as did Taylor Swift, who stole the whole bit with just one incisively self-skewering line: "Whenever a man shows emotion, I appear!"
The show's digital short this weekend was "Monster Pals." In a world where humans and monsters apparently co-exist, one monster has plastic surgery to look like a human, and his friend, unable to recognize him with his new face, wanders around N.Y.C. looking for him. It's actually ... oddly poignant.
A skit called "Blue River Dog Food," lampooned organic, all-natural organic dog food commercials. (It's essentially just an excuse for Cecily Strong to freak out.) She and Rogen have great chemistry, and the skit gradually ratchets up the intensity to great effect.
Ed Sheeran was the show's musical guest this week. Here he is performing "Don't."
