'Gone Girl': David Fincher's Creepiest Movie Trailers
Ben Affleck in Gone Girl
The new Gone Girl trailer is blowing up, and with good reason. Author Gillian Flynn has said she wrote a whole new ending to her twist-filled thriller for director David Fincher's movie – and fans are scouring every frame of the trailer for clues.

Missing wife Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) seems to be floating in a watery grave, while husband Nick (Ben Affleck) goes from preoccupied spouse to prime suspect. But while the trailer certainly ends with a jolt, it’s hardly Fincher’s creepiest. Remember, this is the guy who gave us Se7en, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Fight Club. Heck, even the trailer for The Social Network sent shivers down a spine or two.

A look back at the suspense master's ultra-cool trailers, from creepiest to chillest:

1. Panic Room

Safe rooms can be the scariest of all.
Cool music bonus: Just a lot of smashing.

2. The Social Network

Eerie choir + awkward geeks + how the Internet took over our lives = deeply creepy.
Cool music bonus: A women's chorus covering Radiohead's aptly titled "Creep."

3. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

In which Rooney Mara looks far scarier than the killer.
Cool music bonus: Karen O singing Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's remake of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song."

4. Gone Girl

Ben Affleck is a nice man! Isn’t he? Wait, isn’t he?
Cool music bonus: Richard Butler from Psychedelic Furs covers Charles Aznavour's "She."

5. The Game

Michael Douglas + Sean Penn = paranoia masters at work.

6. Alien 3

The bitch is most definitely back.

7. Se7en

Not nearly as creepy as the movie itself. Execution (pun intended) scarier than concept.
Cool music bonus: Trent Reznor's not-so-mellow soundtrack stylings.

8. Zodiac

Hot lead actors (Robert Downey Jr., Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo) seem more soothing than scary.
Cool music bonus: Rod Stewart's "I'm Losing You."

9. Fight Club

As Judd Nelson’s John Bender would say, "Demented and sad, but social."
Cool music bonus: The Pixies' "Where Is My Mind."

10. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

OK, so this was a mayhem-free PG-13 epic about Brad Pitt aging backward. Or maybe it's the creepiest trailer of all. Geriatric animatronic infant? YIKES!
