It was a busy Saturday lunch rush at 2M's Malt and Burger Mart in Rosenberg, Texas, west of Houston, but one customer was acting so strangely that he stood out.

"He's standing there at the window looking at me like he's in a panic mode, like wanting to get that order quick," restaurant owner Bill McKinney tells KTRK-TV. "And I ignored him. I didn't want to deal with him."

Then as one employee recognized the young man from media reports sweeping the state all weekend, police with guns drawn converged and arrested 20-year-old Ryan Walton in the murder of his wealthy parents in nearby Katy, Texas.

Parked in the restaurant's lot was the 2006 black BMW of Walton's slain mother.

Michael Robert Walton, 54, a real estate developer, and his wife, Lynda Renee Walton, 52, were found fatally shot May 29 in their $1.4 million house that neighbors nicknamed "The Governor's Mansion" in a gated community called Lake Pointe Estates.

After their 24-year-old son, Derrick Walton, found the bodies and called 911, neighbors expressed shock over the death of the popular couple and parents to four. Michael Walton had developed the subdivision where they lived.

Police reportedly questioned and cleared Derrick, then launched a search for his brother Ryan, who had recently dropped out of Texas A&M University and moved out of his parents' house three weeks ago, according to authorities.

About noon Saturday, an off-duty sheriff's sergeant spotted the BMW – which had been captured on surveillance video leaving the house around the time of the murders – driving in the Rosenberg area and called it in, says Bob Haenel, spokesman for the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department.

Ryan Walton was arrested without incident. A possible motive was not immediately known and he remained jailed without bond on two murder charges.
