Here's one intern who's working like a dog this summer!
It was meetings, brainstorms and, yes, more meetings when Lassie – a 10th-generation descendant of Pal, the pup who played the original fictional dog in movies and on TV – came to the PEOPLE offices for a résumé-building internship. (Hey, even this legendary canine needs a well-rounded education.)
The world's most beloved collie began her day with a pow-wow (er, bow-wow?) with Editorial Director Jess Cagle, who asked the pup to make like Barbara Walters and come up with questions for cover subject Hillary Clinton
. Clearly, the dog days of summer are very exciting around here!
In between writing Tweets for PEOPLE Pets
, the pooch selected images for PEOPLE magazine's cover – adorable puppies or Kimye
... it was a ruff
choice! – and took tips from the StyleWatch
team on how to accessorize her magnificent mane.
If every dog has its day, this one was definitely Lassie's.
This internship isn't the only thing keeping the hero pup busy these days: she is the first four-legged ambassador for Best Friends Animal Society
and for Save the Children's Get Ready, Get Safe
initiative, encouraging advanced emergency preparedness.
