Marc Anthony, Miss Universe Wife Split

Marc Anthony and his wife of 26 months, former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, have split, the singer's production company confirmed to the Associated Press Tuesday. The two had married in May 2000 in Las Vegas and have a 16-month-old son, Christian Anthony Muniz. Anthony, 33, also has a daughter, Arianna, born in 1994, whose mother is his former girlfriend Debbie Rosado. No further details regarding the marital breakup have been reported. Last week, PEOPLE.com reported that Jennifer Lopez, 31, is preparing to produce and costar with Anthony in an upcoming film biography of late salsa legend Hector Lavoe. Lopez and Anthony previously teamed for the song "No Me Ames," which appears on her multi-platinum album "On the 6." Last November, when PEOPLE named Anthony the Sexiest Salsa Singer (in its special Sexiest Man Alive issue), Torres, 27, told the magazine what a caring husband he was: "Once, we were watching a documentary on seals, and I said 'Oh my God, they are sooo cute!' The next day he came home with a stuffed toy seal for me. He's always surprising me."
