SPLIT: John Endicott, age unreported, is asking for a divorce from E! TV commentator Melissa Rivers, 34, after a four-year marriage, according May 24 Los Angeles Superior Court filings, reports the Associated Press. According to the AP, the couple have a son, Edgar, 1, and Endicott is seeking joint custody . . . BORN: Mariane Pearl, the widow of murdered Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, gave birth to a boy on Tuesday in Paris, a family spokesman said Thursday. Reuters reports that the child, named Adam D. Pearl, weighed 5.7 pounds and that mother and baby are doing well . . . CAST: Emmy winner James Woods, 55, will play former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in "Rudy!," a two-hour cable movie to air later this year on USA Network, reports the AP. The biopic is expected to focus on Giuliani's early -- and contentious -- years as mayor and his ultimate emergence as an international hero after 9/11 . . . CONCLUDED: U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill and Irish rocker Bono, 42, wound up a 10-day fact-finding tour of poverty-stricken Africa on Thursday, with a few jokes and a lot of determination to help the continent forge a brighter future, reports Reuters. "I've really enjoyed the traveling that we've done together, and I think you can tell from the way we interact that we really do have a growing bond," O'Neill, as quoted by the news service, said on a dusty street in Ethiopia. Said Bono of O'Neill, who is due to carry a message to Washington on the urgency of Africa's needs: "He's the man" . . . SETTLED: Basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman, 41, reached an undisclosed settlement this week with Las Vegas casino worker James Brasich after appealing an $80,000 jury award to the Nevada Supreme Court, reports the AP. Brasich claimed he was humiliated during an October 1997 dice game when Rodman rubbed dice on his body parts and then on Brasich. Rodman's attorneys, not denying that their client made contact, claimed the gesture was for luck and, anyway, the dealer consented to the touching by failing to tell Rodman to stop, the AP reports.
