"South Park" Creators Seek Job
"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have applied to become co-presidents of Comedy Central, reports Variety. The two pals want to replace the cable channel's current president, Doug Herzog, who will become Fox's president of entertainment in January, said a source close to Comedy Central. The duo even went so far as to fly to New York to lobby MTV networks chairman Tom Freston for the job. Freston oversees Viacom's 50% interest in Comedy Central, while HBO chairman Jeff Bewkes looks after Time Warner's half-interest in the cable channel. (Time Warner owns PEOPLE.)
