Nicole Kidman opened to glowing reviews on Broadway Sunday night, starring in the David Hare play "The Blue Room." Its 12-week run is sold out, and scalpers are said to be asking $350 a ticket. New York Times critic Ben Brantley, making reference to Kidman's brief nude scene in the play (based on the drama "La Ronde," about intersecting lives and loves), noted: "Theater ghouls who thrive on watching big stars from another medium stumble onstage have nothing to dine out on here ... Kidman gives a winningly accomplished performance, shifting accents and personae with an assured agility that never stoops to showing off or grandstanding." In summation, he says, "The entire evening is not unlike Kidman's much-discussed body: smooth, pale and slender."
