Residents of Avalon, Australia, where the show, now in its 11th season, had hoped to film (in an attempt to re-energize its formula), opposed having the cast and crew upset the area's idyllic setting. (Nevertheless, several episodes were filmed there.) "Baywatch" is expected to utilize some other Hawaiian locations besides Oahu.
