Mike Barnicle, the former Boston Globe columnist who was forced to resign amid allegations he fabricated a column, will write a weekly column for the New York's Sunday Daily News. "Mike's one of the great columnists in America, and I think he's paid his dues," said Edward Kosner, editor of the Sunday News. "If everyone in journalism who ever made a mistake never got another chance, none of us would be working." Barnicle, 55, resigned from the Globe in August (after 25 years on the paper) amid accusations that he fabricated a column about the families of two children suffering from cancer. Barnicle admitted there were inaccuracies -- including the race of the children and their illnesses -- but denied making up the story. Barnicle's first News column will appear on March 28.
