Beck has sold his home in Pasadena CA for a small profit. The Grammy-winning rocker bought the place last year for $1.275 million. He's now sold it for $1.38 million. The Los Angeles Times says Beck wanted to get away from the extreme summer heat of Pasadena. He bought a smaller home on the west side of L.A. a few months ago.

  • In other real-estate news, country music star Loretta Lynn's 2,000-square-foot beachfront bungalow in Hawaii's Kailua-Kona was sold for $2.65 million, below the listed price of $2.9 million, said John Michael White, who represented Lynn in the sale. The buyer is an unnamed doctor from the mainland. Lynn and her late husband, O.V. "Mooney" Lynn, bought the North Kona property in 1982 and helped design the round home with its open-spaced interior. Loretta, whose 1980 movie biography "Coal Miner's Daughter" brought an Oscar to Sissy Spacek, lives in Hurricane Mills TN, west of Nashville.
