Sales of the 152,000 tickets to visit Princess Diana's ancestral home and her final resting place have been slow this year, with nearly half of the available tickets still unsold three months before the gates are to open to the public. Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, remains confident the tickets will sell out, however. He will open the Althorp estate and the museum he created in his sister's memory from July 1 through Aug. 30, the day before the second anniversary of Diana's death in a 1997 Paris car crash. "There wasn't the huge rush for them at the start as there was last year. And the Princess's death has not dominated the news this year, so sales are understandably slower," said a spokeswoman for the Earl.

  • The ticket prices range from $8 for children to $12 for senior citizens and $15.50 for adults. Last year about 150,000 people visited, and the two-month opening raised more than $492,000 for the Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Fund.
