An Israeli couple kissed for 30 hours and 45 minutes in what a spokeswoman said on Wednesday was a new world record. (The previous record was 29 hours and 37 minutes.) The couple, both in their 20s, started kissing on Monday at 8:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. New York time), along with some 250 other couples in a contest sponsored by Colgate toothpaste and the city of Tel Aviv. "For nearly 31 hours they didn't eat, drink, talk or even go to the bathroom. And the whole time, they were standing up," said Ariella Goldman, publicist for the event. She said a representative of the Guinness Book of World Records was on hand to witness the event. The winning couple received two around-the-world plane tickets and $2,500.
