Julie Sets Record Straight
Speaking of Julie Andrews, the star is denying a Globe tabloid report that she was treated for drug dependency, saying she received care to help her cope with grief related to throat surgery and the death of an aunt. Andrews, 63, recently checked in at the Sierra Tucson facility in Arizona for "guidance and management of emotional issues related to grief," her lawyers said. "I identified emotional issues surrounding my grief that made me wish to take action sooner rather than later," Andrews said. The May 25 issue of The Globe reports she was treated for drug dependency. Her lawyers, Peter Parcher and Orin Snyder, said the singer-actress "does not have, and never has had, a drug or alcohol dependency problem."
