David Lander, best known for playing Squiggy on the '70s sitcom "Laverne & Shirley," has multiple sclerosis, he reveals in this week's PEOPLE Magazine. Lander, 51, was diagnosed with the often-crippling nerve disease 15 years ago, shortly after he had trouble hopping up onto the set on TV's "Hollywood Squares." "If you've got MS," he tells PEOPLE, "and you've got to climb up to that box, I'm telling you, it isn't easy." Lander, married and the father of a teen-age daughter, found out he had the disease shortly after "Laverne and Shirley" came to an end. He is now in remission.
