Dench Departs Drama

In other stage news, Tony-winner Judi Dench (who also won an Oscar this year for her role as Elizabeth I in "Shakespeare in Love") will be out of the Broadway hit "Amy's View" through the weekend, and perhaps longer, because of the serious illness of her husband, actor Michael Williams. The actress flew to London Thursday to be with her family. During Dench's absence, her role (as an aging actress facing personal problems) will be played by understudy Jennifer Harmon.
