Vegas Bets on Bette

Bette Midler will ring in the year 2000 with a few thousand people at the new Mandalay Bay hotel-casino. The Divine Miss M will perform shows on New Year's Eve and Jan. 1, it was announced Thursday. Tickets will cost up to $500. Obviously Vegas is a hot spot to be Dec. 31. Another singer, Barbra Streisand, has already sold out at the MGM Grand. Tickets to see her went from $2,500 to $500,000 (that price includes a massage).
