- The most seriously injured in Tuesday's attack was a 5-year-old boy who was shot in the stomach and leg and lost 30% of his blood. He is in critical condition after six hours of surgery and his prognosis for recovery is fair, say doctors. Two 6-year-old boys and a 16-year-old girl are in stable condition. An adult receptionist was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

A gunman burst into the North Valley Jewish Community Center in Granada Hills, Calif., Tuesday and sprayed the lobby with more than 70 shots, wounding five people, including three boys attending day camp. The suspect, whom police have identified as Buford O'Neal Furrow, also known as Buford O. Furrow Jr., escaped and has so far managed to evade a massive manhunt. He is said to be a partially bald 37-year-old white man with brown hair. The motive for Furrow's attack is not known. "Every possibility, including if it's a hate crime, we'll look into it," said Officer Guillermo Campos. The search for the suspect continues.
